Welcome to our Game Based Learning (GBL) database. The primary function of this website is to present collected resources about using commercial games in education in a way that is intuitive and convenient for educators. Commercial games have enormous budgets, and are used by millions of people for entertainment. This resource has been created to share how educators can utilize this massive industry as a valuable teaching tool.
As a teacher, your planning time is valuable and frequently limited. This resource allows educators to find valuable resources as quickly as possible, and then make informed decisions on whether a game or lesson will meet their needs. It also provides information to decide whether your educational space has the right hardware and budget to use a given game.
The database is presented using Notion, a browser-based organizational tool. Notion is able to present a visual, interactive, and searchable database. Each game is presented as a ‘Tile’ with a title, a representative image, and relevant tags. Clicking on a Game Tile will bring you to the Game Page with additional information.
